Web Design Designer, in plain and simple terms, is a South African site where South Africans or anyone else can learn what web design is, and what it is that a web designer does.

Web design can be pretty plain and simple, but it can also be quite complicated. Quite a lot of work can go into the design of a website. A web designer will sometimes do all of the work, but will sometimes do just parts of the web design work.

A website design is not just a pretty picture on a page with some words here and there. A website is a form of advertising, and there are many different aspects to advertising online.

Does the website represent your business effectively?

Are the same corporate colours used?

How is the website going to be found on the Internet? Will a link to the site be on page one of search results, or on page 100, or on page 1000?


A web designer is often a graphic designer too, and will design logos and buttons for websites, and edit photographs.

A web designer is often a writer and editor too, and may write the text content for a website client, and optimize the text content of a website too, for search engines.

A web designer will often offer many services all related to web design and the online marketing of a website and business. Web designers may work on their own, doing everything, or may have staff members specialising in the different parts of web design and website marketing.

Some web designers, in particular freelance web designers, will cover just one or two areas of web design themselves, and will outsource the other parts of the project to people who specialise in different areas, or the web designer will let the web design client know that he or she (the web design client) will need to hire somebody else for certain parts of the job, but will often advise who to consider hiring, or will sometimes even put the other freelancer or service provider and the client in touch with each other.

A web design designer is usually a creative person who thoroughly enjoys marketing a business online. Plain and simple.
